Project summary:

This study investigated the recolonisation of mixed forest coupes by bryophytes following regeneration burns. For the first three to four years after burning, this was characterised by the colonising species Marchantia berteroana, Funaria hygrometrica, Ceratodon purpureus and Polytrichum juniperinum whose rapid development appeared to be critical to their success. The study included Warra coupes WR004G, WR006C and WR006B.
